The color blue has a very special meaning in Gelsenkirchen. It not only stands for the club colors of FC Schalke 04, it is the color of the city logo and the Musiktheater im Revier is also known for its blue wall reliefs. And finally, AMEVIDA wears blue as its corporate color.
So it's no wonder that AMEVIDA is taking part in the "Baues Band" initiative. This initiative, which was launched by the Schalker Markt Foundation, aims to connect the city center with the Schalke North district with a blue ribbon of lights - right across Gelsenkirchen. The LED street lighting that has been illuminating Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse for almost two years now is equipped with the blue light.
AMEVIDA, with its headquarters at Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse 100, has now donated the missing 28 lights up to Florastrasse, thus completing the blue ribbon. This art installation, which transforms Kurt-Schumacher-Straße from the Musiktheater to the Schalker Sportpark into a blue light axis over a distance of around 2.7 kilometers, is intended to send out a signal of courage, confidence and a better future here in Gelsenkirchen.
More than 180 ultra-modern LED lights, a special development for this art project, immerse Schalke and Schalke-Nord in a unique light image that is clearly recognizable even from an airplane. The result is a special atmosphere with a clear message to the local people: Something is happening here, people are getting involved!
