The first week of the new 2020 training year is over: 22 young people have started their training at AMEVIDA, one of the largest owner-managed customer care service providers in Germany.
On August 1, 2020, training began at AMEVIDA for fourteen service specialists and dialog marketing clerks, five office management clerks, one IT systems integration specialist and two tourism clerks.
For two or three years, the apprentices have the opportunity to get to know the different departments at the seven locations in NRW and beyond.
This is because the rotation procedure, which is unusual in call centers, allows the trainees to get a taste of different fields of activity.
Lisa Rahmel from Gelsenkirchen and Gianna Wustmann from Herne have had an exciting first week at their new company.
"My first week at work was very good.
I was given a warm welcome and was able to carry out the tasks I was learning in the department independently in my first week," reports Lisa Rahmel.
Gianna Wustmann has also "gained many different impressions" and has already learned a lot in the site secretariat.
Despite the current coronavirus situation, AMEVIDA wants to give its trainees the best possible start to their new phase of life, even without in-person events. This year, the call center giant is therefore relying on training via video conference to support the trainees in several small groups with answers. Trainees from higher apprenticeship years are also on hand to support the newcomers. Taner Harkin from Herten, in his 3rd year of training as a dialog marketing clerk, supervises three trainees in Gelsenkirchen: "Being there for other trainees is a completely new experience for me. I'm learning to take on responsibility and a leadership role myself. But I was also able to allay the fears of the "newcomers", as we communicate as equals."
The CEO of AMEVIDA, Dr. Matthias Eickhoff, emphasizes: "For us, the trainees are already important members of the workforce. After all, we can only achieve our ambitious goals in a growing but competitive market with our own qualified employees. For us," says Dr. Matthias Eickhoff, "it is a matter of course that we enable as many young people as possible to train - even or especially in corona times."
AMEVIDA has been training apprentices at its various locations for many years.
The approximately 2,200 employees currently include 50 trainees.
